Diagnostic Pathology of difficult and rare breast tumors
October 14 - October 16€690
Course Objectives During the course, the participants will be able to review at least 50 cases focusing on (very) difficult and/or rare breast tumors and tumor-like lesions. A variety of unusual benign, premalignant, and malignant breast tumors as well as tumor-like conditions that are likely to cause diagnostic difficulties and misinterpretations are included.
On each day, selected cases will be reviewed by the participants using conventional (on-site) microscopy. All cases will be extensively discussed by the faculty members using an interactive approach (“live” microscopic presentation of the cases). Particular attention will be paid to the diagnostic criteria with systematic analysis of differential diagnoses and pitfalls. Value and limitations of immunohistochemistry will be demonstrated and critically discussed.
After the course, the participants will have access for four weeks to review all digitized cases via internet. Prior to the course, however, there is no internet access to the selected cases.
